25 Feb 2020: "Call me maybe"

Hello everyone!
This week has been a week full of miracles! It was a busy one, due to transfer duties being taken care of. It's fun being in a trio, especially with a former companion of mine.
We had a pretty amazing experience on Sunday. We had just gotten home from church, and we got a call from someone, who asked if we would please come and teach her son. She had received a card from missionaries with our phone number on it about a year and a half ago, and her son was really struggling, and so her and her husband decided to call us to have us come teach their family. That never ever happens to us, and so of course we would! We went to their house, which was in a part of our area in which we didn't really go much because of the lack of Spanish speaking people there, but they lived there! We had the most powerful conversation with the family. This wonderful Sister and her husband were crying as we taught their son that yes there is a God, and that he was a son of God. He is 13 years old, and acts like one too, but you could tell he was wanting us to be there, that he was clinging on to what we were saying, but trying to not show it. It was a powerful experience. I testify that we are not in charge of this work. Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ, His Son are in charge of Their work.
I am grateful to be in this area for another transfer. Yes there is a part of me who is tired, very tired. This has been a very emotionally taxing area for me, but I know that I am here for a reason specifically in this area for more of the Lord's time.
Two other quick things about the week that were cool: 1. Yesterday a guy slammed the door in our face, but after that Elder Troya asked him if he wanted a picture of Christ, and he opened the door and picked one, and then we told him about english class, and his eyes lit up! He said he had been here for a long time and still doesn't know english. By the end of the time of us talking to him, he said "stop by any time!" that was pretty great. Pretty miraculous actually.
2. We got haircuts today from a lady who had done a country concert with Keith Urban and made the top 60 of American Idol in 2015. It was super cool!
Yesterday we had a Family Home Evening about Family history work, and afterwards we had food, and they had jalapeños, which people from Mexico love to just eat them whole. I grabbed one and ate it, and everyone started saying that I was Mexican, ha ha. I have been around them for a while ha ha.
Hope everyone has a great week!
