24 March 2020: "Peace, Be Still"
Hello everyone!
Week one of working remotely is just about up! We have done our best to work with the members to help them help us, because that is the only way we will get work done in this mission. We are trying to get the members to share our Facebook posts, and have their friends see them in the community. During all of this, I was struggling a little bit with the idea of potentially working remotely for the rest of my mission, and I decided to ask my companions to give me a priesthood blessing. For those who aren't familiar with priesthood blessings, part of what we teach is that the same authority that Christ gave His followers, called Apostles has been restored to the earth, which gives men the ability to bless in the same way that they blessed people, in the way that the Savior blessed. When I received that blessing, so much peace came into my heart. It was gradual, but now, with the fluctuating circumstances surrounding the term of my service, I feel so much peace and certainty that Heavenly Father is the one in charge of this work, alongside His Only Begotten Son, Jesus Christ. They are in charge, and I know that they are going to do what is best for me, my family, my mission and those in it. My companion asked me to give him a priesthood blessing today. Shortly thereafter, he found out that due to preexisting health conditions, he will have to return home this week.

I had the opportunity to have sacrament meeting with the Pecjaks in their home on Sunday. It made me appreciate and revere that ordinance (ordinance is basically a sacred act that we do that is critical to our spiritual well being) so much more. I love the Savior. I have loved my mission, and more importantly, the people I have served, especially here in Alta Vista. Please have hope, please have faith, I promise you it will prove very helpful in the coming weeks, months, and years. For that reason I am here!

-last month on February 15 we did the Saints and Sinners Half Marathon, not as racers, but serving at it. It was awesome!
