28 January 2020: The Book is Blue, the Church is True!

Hello everyone!

We had an awesome week here in Alta Vista and South Valley Ranch! We had an amazing lesson with Ana, in the home of a recent convert who was baptized about 2 years ago. We felt prompted to have a lesson with her, because the Book of Mormon, as it always should, played a huge role in her conversion. Before she was baptized, she read the Book of Mormon in 22 days! Ana was very intently listening to her, and we bore fervent testimony that as she studied the Book of Mormon daily. She accepted to be baptized on February 15th!! Why is the Book of Mormon so critical? Because of it's powerful witness that Jesus is the Christ, and that God is the same, yesterday, today, and forever. Man will get closer to God by reading it, than by any other book. I have seen this book change my life, and the lives of others.

Yesterday we had Zone conference, and it was amazing. President Youngblood taught us to break through the barrier of faith, and accomplish miracles in our areas. He said that each of us could see people being baptized in our areas weekly, if we have the faith and works to see it happen. It was bold, and powerful, but I felt the Spirit confirm to my heart that what he was saying was true! I love my area. It has stretched me, and pushed me, and been the greatest challenge of my mission for me. I am seeing lives change, including my own.

As for anything else this week, nothing else came close to that. We had some people cancel for church due to illness or other things outside of our control. That was frustrating, but I am glad it is helping me have more patience with people, and their agency.

I hope all of you have a wonderful week!

Zone Conference!

Sister Ziegner, the sister with the flower in her hair, I found out went to school with a good friend of mine from my Oregon days, Elder Hemsley! He is also currently serving a mission.

These four elders, have all been companions with each other at some point or another in the last year and a half. I was with Elder Dougal in Sept - Oct 2018, Elder Loutensock in May - June 2019, and Elder Dominguez June - July 2019. Elder Dominguez and Elder Loutensock are currently companions, serving together as the Assistants to the President. It was awesome seeing all of my former companions sitting up front!

Elder Sproul, the elder in the middle of one of the pictures, is a service missionary who will be completing his two years of dedicated service at the end of the transfer. In his testimony at the end of conference, he said " You are all shining examples to me, and also shining examples to our Savior" I will miss him a lot (:
