14 Jan 2020: The Music of the Gospel of Jesus Christ
Hello everyone!
We talked to her about what she had learned at church, and she basically bore her testimony of the things we have taught about Joseph Smith and others. We watched a video of Peter walking on water towards Christ, and then we invited her to be baptized. She told us something that she believed was holding her back from baptism. She told us some things that were so personal to her, and the reason why she told us them, was because she knew that she could trust us, and knew that we had her best interests at heart, and that we loved her very much. She knew that she could confide in us and her fellowship. That was a very touching experience. One that I will never forget. I can't go into details of what she said because they were so personal to her. That sweet old lady has gone through some really tough things though. My companion invited her to be baptized on January 25th, which is very soon, but the Spirit confirmed to our hearts that if she uses her free agency right, then she will be ready for that day.
Hopefully you have all had a great week! We saw some incredible miracles this week, including the Zarate family coming to church, because Hno Zarate finally asked to get Sundays off! Also, last Tuesday night we had an incredible lesson with Ana.

The other thing I wanted to share with you is a talk that I listened to this week, from the director of the elite jazz band Synthesis at BYU. His name is Ray Smith. His devotional address changed my perspective on what I could do with my music after the mission. I can incorporate my testimony, apply the things that I learn on my mission and from my testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and keeping God's commandments to the music I love so much. I don't want to spoil the talk for you but I sincerely invite you all to read it or listen to it!
