22 Oct 2019: New apartment/area who dis?

Hi everyone!


Its been a good first week in Wells Park/Alta Vista 3. We got a new apartment, and a new english ward on top of our spanish branch. We now have 3 sets of missionaries in the spanish branch, and it was cool to see all the new missionaries bear their testimonies and see how unified the members and the missionaries were going to be. Things are going to change in the Alta Vista branch. I am sure of that. 

Funny story: on Wednesday, the day of transfers, we had to go all over the Las Vegas valley, dropping things off and stuff like that. It was a pretty crazy day. We ended up in a few of my old areas in Las Vegas, based on where we were. Anyway, we found out from a missionary who was serving in our new ward, that we had a meeting that was supposed to start 5 minutes from then! Well obviously we werent going to be able to make that, so what they did instead was make us speak in the sacrament meeting on Sunday! It was a good experience for me. Only I forgot that I was speaking on Sunday morning, so I had to pretty much make it up as I went. It went well though! We made a good first impression.

Buffalo Wild Wings this afternoon for lunch. We were eating, and the waiter comes over, and says, "gentlemen, the man over at that booth, just paid for all of your meals, so you are all good." That was awesome. It happens every so often out here, but we arent really supposed to accept money, but in this case we couldnt decline it, and that would be very rude, so we just thanked him profusely. It was good food!

Hello everyone! This week has been a week full of miracles! It was a busy one, due to transfer duties being taken care of. It's fun being in a trio, especially with a former companion of mine.  We had a pretty amazing experience on Sunday. We had just gotten home from church, and we got a call from someone, who asked if we would please come and teach her son. She had received a card from missionaries with our phone number on it about a year and a half ago, and her son was really struggling, and so her and her husband decided to call us to have us come teach their family. That never ever happens to us, and so of course we would! We went to their house, which was in a part of our area in which we didn't really go much because of the lack of Spanish speaking people there, but they lived there! We had the most powerful conversation with the family. This wonderful Sister and her husband were crying as we taught their son that yes there is a God, and that he was a son of God...

18 Dec 2018: ¿¡Voy a ser un líder de distrito?!

Hola mi gente! Well, another transfer has come and gone and I will be.... Leaving Washington Avenue! Yesterday afternoon I also learned from a certain phone call from President that I will be the district leader in a new district! Who woulda thunk it! My new area is going to be two wards called Freedom Park and Christy Lane, and my new companion, who came out with Elder Troya, is from Honduras! His name is Elder Carpio, and he is fantastic! I'm so excited, and a bit nervous, but that's neither here nor there. If I learned anything from the past two transfers, it is that the Lord qualifies who he calls . That has been made very clear to me the past few months. He qualifies whom He calls. He has qualified me to be a trainer, and I know that if I am worthy of it, He will qualify me to be a district leader.  Oh yeah, Elder Troya is going to good ole Blythe, CA to be companions with our old zone leader, Elder Lawson. 22 August 2018: Arrived in NV

Hola mi familia! I just wanted to let you know that I arrived in Las Vegas safely! It was quite a beautiful drive, until we got into the city and I couldn't look out the window without looking back in the car again if you know what I mean... P days are on Tuesdays here, except for next week which it will be on Thursday.  I love you all!  Here is a picture of Elder Cluff and I before we would be separated forever... Traveling to NV today! Vegas here we come! No airport or plane needed ... this was our means of travel to get to NV  Note: The bottom three photos were sent to us from a random helper who took these photos and sent them to the missionaries' families on the day they traveled. It was great to get the update since we weren't able to communicate with Clark that day (aside from the note above that he sent us).
