10 Sept 2019: I'm Movin' Out!

This past week was full of amazing lessons, and great people! We had a great time teaching people about the Restoration of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, to those who had the question on their mind "how do I know which church is true?" The Book of Mormon was a powerful tool for us this week as we testified that there is a prophet on the earth today, and the Book of Mormon is evidence that Joseph Smith was a prophet, and that the Gospel of Jesus Christ has been restored to its fullness in our days.
The reason for the title is because on Wednesday, on the day of transfers, Elder Sierra and I, and four other elders, moved what used to be in a 3 bedroom house, including food, furniture and appliances, into a smaller, 2 bedroom apartment on the other side of Henderson! We were very sweaty by the end of the day. It took up pretty much the whole day, especially because it is on the second landing of the apartment building. We had a lot of great help though.
Yesterday we got to do service for an 85 year old member of our ward who is a retired archaeologist and car racer. I think he said that he used to race Formula cars back in the 60s, the smaller cars you see in old pictures. That was cool!
We had a lesson with a lady named Gabriela, who was super cool! We had invited her to read about a question that is on a little card we gave her about questions that the Book of Mormon answers for us. We had two return missionaries from our Spanish branch there with us, and they were great! It was a cool experience!
We are also teaching this mom and daughter from Costa Rica who are so eager to learn! They want to know why there is 1 God and His Son, and so many different churches. They also have great friends from their ward who fellowship them so well. Their situation is interesting, because they are recently from Costa Rica, and mostly speak Spanish, but they want to go to church in English to practice their English, but they need to be taught in Spanish so they can understand what they are being taught. It's really fun to teach them!
On Saturday we had to bike, because we don't use our cars on Saturday, and I had to replace both of my tubes for that, but the most fun part of that was riding in 110° weather. Ha! It was an adventure for both of us.
I just want to share a quote from a prophet of God who served several years ago, that my mission president shared with me this morning in an email:
"Any excuse, no matter how valid, weakens character" - President Spencer W. Kimball. It's very true!
Have a great week everyone!

Me and my cockroach collection from cleaning up the house. A total of 11 was found today. I'm starting to realize why they are closing this house.
