16 April 2019: I'm Movin' Out!
Hola todos,
Its been a great
week here in Paradise! We have had a lot of miracles happen here the
past week. On Wednesday I dealt with some bruised ribs for no known
reason, but we stuck it out and found some really cool people. I learned
a really important principle about enduring to the end. This week I saw
countenances change as we shared the gospel. We got to teach a lot of
families, and the Echipare kids all had successful interviews!

On
Thursday we had zone conference, in the really rich part of Henderson,
and when we got there, all the early morning seminary kids in that stake
were using the building. We had to wait an extra hour to start zone
conference, and I was conducting! That was fun. We went to the temple to
do baptisms for the dead with recent converts, Jazmin, Jalen and
Junior. After that Elder Hernandez crashed at the apartment, and when he
is asleep, you cant wake him up, so I phone proselyted for the rest of
the night.
On Wednesday
we were proselyting in the morning, we were contacting people in a
trailer park, when we looked up a space number at the map at the front
of the park and a lady comes out of the office there, and says "Is there
anything I can help you with?" And I said "No thank you, we were just
looking for a house number but we got it. Thank you so much!" And we
walked away. On our way to the house, we talked to a lady on her porch
who had called us over. We had a nice talk with her, and set up a time
to come back. We then went to our contact. After that, we were stopped
by a guy in a golf cart who had apparently been following us, and he
told us that we had to leave immediately, because we had talked to more
than one person, after we had "told their property manager that we were
going to one house and one house only" (we didn't say anything close to
that). Not wanting to fight anything, we left. After we left, we
realized that we had an appointment with a Part Member Family in an hour
in that same park, so we called Elder Hernandez, and he told us to just
go straight there now, and he would call them to tell them we were
coming. So we did that, and the same guy in the golf cart "pulled us
over" and told us that since we didn't make our intentions known to the
property manager in the first place, he was going to call the cops if we
didn't leave in two minutes. We eventually had the member pick us up.
Apparently the same guy in the golf cart went to their house and told
them that two guys were coming wanting to harass them or something
goofy like that. I'm just confused. We weren't soliciting, even though a
few days later, we saw the sign on their office saying that visitors
have to sign in. So maybe we just have to sign in from now on. I didn't
want the cops called just because I know how much of a time waster that
is. Oh well.
This
Saturday we have a mission conference with one of our apostles, Elder Jeffrey R. Holland!!
The next day we have stake conference also with Elder Holland! We are so
excited!!
Spiritual
thought: we need to endure to the end. This is probably the hardest part
of following the Gospel of Jesus Christ, because it requires daily
effort. We endure to the end by reading the scriptures every day,
praying many times a day, and attending and participating in church. I
loved the messages we heard in General Conference, because they were all
focused on how we endure to the end. I invite all of you to seek on
what you need to do better to endure to the end.
Have fun!
