15 Jan 2019: Kick Back with Some Baloot and Albertsons Cookies
Hola todos!
Another week has
come and gone in Sin City for Elder Lovell. Many things have happened. I
hit six months on my mission on Friday. I had something called baloot
on Tuesday (look it up, I don't want to explain it to you, but it was
surprisingly good) and today I discovered that there are Albertsons
stores all around me, full of the delicious cookies that I grew up on in
Oregon. That was a heavenly experience. I will attach a video of my
baloot experience. When Liz came for her baptismal interview, she
brought four baloot for Elder Carpio, myself, and Elder Díaz and Elder
Dillender.

We had exchanges with the zone leaders. That was awesome because I got to be back with my trainer again. Just like old times.
We
had a really awesome dinner with a family in the ward and Luz. Our ward
mission leader for Christy Lane ward and his wife were also there. Luz
is getting baptized the 26th, and she is sooo awesome. We talked to her
about the temple, and how through the temple we can be families for
eternity.
I also
conducted exchanges with elders in my district. I love working with the
elders in my district. It is so fun to look back and see how much I have
grown to love my district serving as a district leader. The Lord has
really grown my ability to love the people around me.

Some
people thought we were the maintenance men for the apartment complex
when we knocked on their door. There are some other stories that I could
tell in writing, but it would take too long and they are really
awkward, so I will just tell you all them when I'm home, (which will
never happen).
Spiritual thought for the week:

Families
are truly eternal. The message we share as missionaries isnt just about
the Book of Mormon, or Joseph Smith, its about the love Heavenly Father
has for us, and how we can be eternal families living with Him and our
Savior Jesus Christ. That is the definition of Exaltation. The thing is,
people don't even know how happy Heavenly Father wants to make them, and
that is why missionary work is so hard. We do all we can to share this
message. We love the people. Families are meant to be eternal. Just
thinking about it and writing about it makes my heart swell with joy and
excitement. I invite you to do all you can to help your family be
eternal, through attending the temple. We invite people to be baptized,
so eventually they can attend the temple and be sealed as families in
the temple.
Lovell you guys!
