27 Nov 2018: 7 G!

Elder Troya and me today at the temple

Hello everyone!

Sorry this is going out so late. We went to the temple this morning as a district, and it's been a crazy day since.

All I really want to share is this funnyish cool story from my Sunday night.

We felt we should knock on this one door, and when we did, a teenager opened the door, and thought we were the cops (not again!) So he got his dad. I was like "here we go again, another door closed on us" Quite the contrary, his dad's face lit up when he saw us. "Ah mormons? How ya doing? Want something to eat? Come on in!" He feeds us dinner, and asks us how long we have, or our family has been in the church. Elder Troya is actually a first generation member, his parents joined the church when he was a baby. I had to pull out my family tree app to find out. Apparently my family on one side has been members for about 7 generations. So he was like "Whaaat? 7 G's?" So he just started calling me 7 G for the whole night. Very long story short, we had a very in depth discussion about Christianity, the Book of Mormon, and whatnot." At the end he was like "I dont get it, why do you guys get such a bad rap?" "Well, some people just don't like us!" I respond, he laughed his head off at that. We set up a return appointment with him and his family. That will be really fun. I'm sorry I gave you the condensed version, but I'm super low on time.

On Saturday we were walking home, and we saw a member at a taco truck. Just to give you all a visual, Vegas is like Philadelphia, without the skyscrapers, at least in my area, and instead of regular food trucks full of cheesesteaks and hotdogs, they are all authentic Mexican food trucks. This one was actually really good. The member graciously bought us tacos, and gave us churros and a ride home. I love the members here.

Sorry I don't have more time, but Merry Christmas! Hope Thanksgiving was awesome for you guys! Stay safe in the snow! At least you all know how to drive in it. Out here, if it were to snow, there would be a city wide panic.

Love,
Elder Lovell

Me being Elder Troya's lighting specialist for him taking pics to send home.
I love grown to actually like making and eating breakfast burritos. Anyone who knows me knows that I hate eggs. Missions change you.
