11 Feb 2020: "Welcome Home"

Hello everyone! We have had a great week here! We have a few more people progressing in our area, and we are helping prepare them to make the sacred covenant of baptism. We have seen several miracles this week. The title of my email comes from Elder Shane Bowen, a member of the Seventy, a General Authority of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He came to our stake conference this past weekend, and he met Ana, the Guatemalan lady that we have been teaching. When we told him that she was getting baptized on Saturday (the 15th) he shook her hand and said "Welcome home" it was so sweet, because he said it in Spanish. He served in Chile when he was a missionary, and in Spain as a mission president. She has been through so much to get here. She has changed so much, and it has been amazing teaching her. What else... 4 Feb 2020: Sweaty Baton

Hello everyone! I hope everyone is doing well! This week has been a miraculous week! The Zarate family will be getting baptized this February 29! We had a nice visit with them this past week, and they accepted a baptismal date for the 29th, leap day. We had a really intense lesson with Ana. We gave her a priesthood blessing that she will be ready for her baptism on Feb 15. It was a really powerful lesson. We are seeing her again tonight. The reason for the title of this email is because President Youngblood, my mission president, sent us a voice recording and an email about how we need to sprint to the finish line of this race. He finishes his mission the same time that I do, and so he told us that he fully intends to sprint to the finish line, and expects us to do the same, because the new mission president, President Rodarte, will be ready to get the baton from us running, and he wants that baton to be sweaty, meaning that we have sprinted until the end.
